AKL Tips

Are there any stores that sell bottles of wine or liquor at the AKL?
I am using Magical Express and do not have a rental. I definately don't want to risk packing any.
I could imagine that is would pretty relaxing watching the animals while having a nice glass of wine on the balcony.

I was curious if anyone had a review of the Standard View rooms? Are the Savanna view rooms worth the extra price?

So we're going to try Concierge for the first time in September. This will be our 5th time to AKL, and the hotel is the best part of the trip IMO. SOoo, with that said, the little things really matter to me. I've asked in various places if concierge offers anything extra in the room itself, such as better toiletries, big robes you normally get in other hotels, bigger rooms, etc. I know about the concierge lounge, and the food and drink sounds like it's going to be fabulous and a really nice perk. How does turndown service work at AKL? Do you just request it daily?

Does Animal Kingdom have a valet? How much is it?

We've received several questions about when the Kidani pool will be opening so we thought we'd pass on our understanding of the situation. According to both a DVC representative and a booking agent have said that the pool and restaurants will be open in May along with the rooms. There will still be construction on a second phase of rooms, but all the amenities are supposed to be available.

I'm so excited!!! We're thinking of going to AKL next year!!! Are all the animals on all of the savannas, or do they only have certain ones in certain places? If we want to see giraffes, do we have to be facing a certain savanna?
